Irish Fishing Regulations

The Rivers Dee & Glyde are closed to Salmon fishing for the coming Season and until otherwise advised. Members will however be able to fish for Brown trout and Sea trout subject to the Regulations in force. Members are to make themselves aware and adhere to the conservation regulations and bag limits in force on the rivers. Anyone caught in possesion of Salmon will face heavy penalties.

Fisheries Protection Officers will be conducting increased River Patrols during the year and the club will be introducing a significant number of new Fisheries Protection Officers during the season to ensure that Salmon can return to spawn and that we conserve existing stocks in order to meet the conservation levels.

 

Conservation Note *
Brown trout under 11 inches and sea trout under 12 inches measured from tip of snout to fork of tail shall be returned to the waters without exception.

General Rules of the Association

  • Bag Limit of 3 Brown Trout per Angler per Day (above conservation note applies)
  • Fishing rods including Fishing Rods + Tips which exceed a combined length of 12 feet are prohibited
  • Maggot Fishing for Salmon prohibited - Salmon Fishing Prohibited
  • Shrimp Fishing on River Glyde in September is prohibited on rented ERFB Waters - Salmon Fishing Prohibited
  • Ground baiting prohibited
  • Gaffs prohibited

Members must display their badges at all times when fishing on the rivers.
