Dee & Glyde Young Angler Initiative
In association with Ardee Pike Anglers the Dee and Glyde Fishing Development Association set out on a course of action a number of years ago to encourage young people to engage in the sport of angling but also to learn the value of conservation , protection and development of our rivers.
Awards
Our Juvenile and Junior Anglers under the tutorage of the Ardee Pike Angling Association have won the All Ireland National Pike Team competition as well as a number of individual awards.
Membership
Membership is open to male and female and there is no charge for Junior anglers ( <16 years old) between 16 & 18 we ask for a subscription of 10 euro per annum which helps towards the cost of entry fees for competitions, fishing and safety equipment.
How to Join
Young Members can join by requesting a form and having a parent or Guardian sign it. Parents or Guardian must accompany under 18's whilst fishing on club waters. Learning Evenings ( Teaching Fly fishing, Coarse Fishing etc ) are usually held on Tuesdays and Sundays throughout the Summer and these will be notified in advance.
