Waterways can be dangerous and its easy to forget this until tragedy strikes so always wear a life-jacket when you are on water – it’s your lifeline in an emergency Personal Flotation Devices are a must when Angling or Boating.
They can mean the difference between life and death if you slip into the water. It only takes a few inches of water in order to drown.

- Always fish in pairs if possible
- Let Someone know what time you will be leaving and time you expect to return - keep in touch !
- Wear a Personal Flotation device when on or near water
- Set a good example to younger anglers and use your personal flotation device (just like a seat belt!)
- If you spot someone in trouble in the river think before you leap ! - access the situation, make the call to 999. Submerged branches, rocks etc don't care how strong a swimmer you are !
- On sunny days wear high factor sun screen
- When Fly fishing wear glasses
